SUBMISSIONS
READ THE E-ZINE BEFORE SUBMITTING!
After all - IT'S FREE!
Submissions that have racist, angry
themes will NOT be accepted. While the e-zine does occasionally include
dark humor, it is NEVER aimed at any particular culture, race or person.
Odds are, we're not going to find suicide amusing either.
We do NOT accept horror.
The Fractured Publisher is open to submissions
of humorous promotional material for published works, be it non-fiction,
fiction, short stories, or novel length works; as well as humorous
articles/stories over the art and business of writing.
The following word counts are flexible but please don't abuse that
policy or we will ask you to shorten/lengthen your submission.
Articles: 400 - 800 words
Short Stories: 50 - 2000 words
Book Reviews: 300 - 700 words
Column Submissions
Rumors: 50 - 150 words
Cliff Diving: 50 - 200 words
Boxer Spotting: 50 - 200 words
The site is aimed at promoting books, websites and short fiction and we
include live links to author's websites and/or sales pages for their
works in print (electronic or hard copy) throughout all articles.
Although The Fractured Publisher is not currently a paying site, that
does not mean we are going to accept everything we are sent. We want
your funniest work, keep it under PG-13 and NO FOUL LANGUAGE, please. We
reserve the right to ask for editorial changes.
We will also reject any submission that
you cannot prove is your original work. Please do not send us
jokes/comics/lists/anecdotes that have been floating through cyberspace.
Some of these are highly amusing but as they've been so widely
disseminated it is impossible to prove who holds the copyright.
USE YOUR SPELLING AND GRAMMAR CHECKER
Then DOUBLE check visually for those little mistakes that the
I might miss. (understand?)
Submissions may be sent to: fpsubmissions at yahoogroups.com (remove the
spaces and use the 'at' symbol when pasting into your email. We
apologize for not using a live link, but we'd be overrun with spam if we
did.)
All submissions MUST be in the body of the email, no attachments. This
eliminates the risk of computer viri and compatibility issues with
different word processing programs.
PLEASE include the word SUBMISSION - (type of submission) - title in
your subject line so that the proper editor can find it.
Example: Submission-Book Reviews-Within the Shadow
If you've read this far, and follow these
directions in your email, then you've proven that you're semi-serious
about your submission. Prove to us that you're TOTALLY serious by
reading the e-zine. Self-depreciating humor is one thing, negative humor
aimed at belittling a group, race or culture is unacceptable. (We've
seen FAR too much of this lately.)
We use non-exclusive electronic rights for a minimum period of three
months. Authors retain full copyright of their own work. We may accept
reprints, however we do like to see originals (of course). Work may
appear in our archives until such time as the author asks us to remove
it.
Thanks!
