Dragon Art by Ted Hopkins
Lea
Docken
AKA
Dragon Lady
started writing when she was twelve and hasn't stopped.
She remembers going with her Granny when she babysat one Saturday
night and working on a Romance Story while she watched Saturday
night television. Back then she didn't know that in the coming years
there would be a specific Romance Genre. In seventh grade she wrote
her first play. Poetry always found a playground in her head. On
another playground fantasy characters breed like little bunnies.
When she is not writing paranormal romance or fantasy she's writing
poetry, writing in her journal, or writing about a childhood memory.
Lea has worked as an editor, dabbled in publishing, facilitator and
teacher of writing groups, as well as a ListMom and plain ole’
writer. In the real world she is a wife, mother, and teacher. Now
she's learning to wear a totally new hat: Grandmother of five wee
ones. (She's laid the law down to those who have been breeding and
told them that she's too young for this Grandmotherly type stuff,
and they have to quit. Can you imagine? They just rolled their eyes
and shook their heads.)
Queen Mab, Lea's muse visits often, is full of ideas and does not
like to be interrupted for any reason. Queen Mab seems to be able to
handle all the characters roaming around within Lea's head and can
quiet them down and come when needed and tell her what they want.
Lea's poetry, stories, articles, and reviews have appeared online in
such e-publications as Mondance, Celebrating Creative Women,
@writers etc. Book reviews, articles, and poetry have appeared in
local small press publications as well as MaelStrom and Ticklespot
Playground of the Goddess. Lea has been an assistant Fiction Editor
and Poetry Editor for Moondance. She has also edited and shepherded
local anthologies into print. She's started and facilitated several
writers groups and most recently has contributed to
The Complete
Guide to Writing Fantasy.
Lea also studies Tarot and gives professional
readings. Her firm belief is that "you should never stop learning or
you will stagnant." She loves to knit, make masks, learn about
alternative spirituality and watch classic black and white movies
and loves anything paranormal. She's a fan of Astrology and has loved
Linda Goodman since her teens.

Her favorite quote is: “Universal Law: A light
shining from a mountaintop inevitably attracts the darkness.” Linda
Goodman, Star Signs.
