HAIRY NET APPEARANCE
(Darin Park)
In a further development in the fantasy field today, it has been
reported that a new publishing agency has surfaced on the net. This is
not the every
day run of the mill publishing house. Nope. This service is run by
bona-fide werewolves.
When asked to explain their sudden appearance on the internet, their
spokesperson ... um... spokeswolf, Lady K'Lyssia gave a toothy smile and
explained that Wolfsinger Publications was set up to finance the future
of
werewolves everywhere in the world. Also, the "Lady" said that
werewolves were getting a bum rap from the myths and legends, seen as
some sort of slaves or inferiors to the arrogant vampires. "Those
bloodsuckers get all
the credit and we get all the crap. We are putting our collective paw
down
and would like to set the record straight once and for all. It's not all
blood and guts, and on the full moon we have the Wolfenstein Choir that
sings so well, when you hear them the hairs on the backs of your hands
stand up."
Lady K'Lyssia did add that not all the legends about werewolves are bad
and
as an example of good storytelling about the species referred to a story
titled "Midnight Song" that appeared in the pages of DAW Books
Creature Fantastic Anthology in 2001. With a soft growl she
mentioned that copies could still be purchased from the author Carol
Hightshoe at
http://www.klyssia.com/Market
Place1.html
and suggested that more people should read
the story.
This new enterprise for the werewolves is a company offering "vanity"
press options to those seeking publication services for booklets.
However, they are mainly an editing service, more the "slice and dice"
deal rather than a full service for book publishing.

Boxer Stalker
(Tina Morgan)
A man in white boxers was seen sneaking around upcoming author,
Sheri McGathy's hometown this week. According to eye-witnesses, he
was carrying a copy of her "Within the Shadow of Stone" and the anthology she contributed
to,
"From Within the Mist" and muttering that he "must have this
phenomenal author's autograph". Descriptions of this scantily
dressed fan have ranged from a short man with hairy feet to a tall
brunette Aussie, to a dark eyed Israeli to a short, man with large
soulful eyes. He appears to be armed only with a pen, two books
and seems fairly harmless.
*Boxer Stalker Update*
(Tina
Morgan)
The latest sighting of the frantic autograph seeker currently
stalking
Sheri McGathy has confirmed rumors that he has pointed ears.
Conflicting reports of hair color describe him as either a light
blonde or black headed man.
Could there be TWO??
Anyone with video of the white boxer clad fan are asked to bring
it to the station. (some of the female staff members REALLY want
to see it.)
*UPDATE!*
Rumors were flying that the white
clad boxer fan had been seen at a recent viewing of the movie Van
Helsing.
Misleading information was sent to
the staffs' email stating that the mystery man was lurking outside
the movie theatre. The staff tried to substantiate this rumor but
were unable to do so.
Though they were delighted to see
Hugh Jackman on the silver screen in a loincloth, their search for
the mystery fan continues. |
