"Thief Of
Dreams"
by Sheri L. McGathy

"Two
hearts, one soul, forever."
These five simple words capture the love story that is Sheri McGathy's
"Thief of Dreams." Two hearts--Nerys and Cody. One soul--an evil one,
Gerard, who threatens to tear everything they want to shreds. Set against
a glorious backdrop of Celtic mythology, complete with the Fae and Cernu
the Stag King, "Thief of Dreams" is a highly satisfying, complex story of
love lost and gained, stolen and dreamed.
McGathy's main character, Nerys, leads us through her land and the chase
for her affections by Cody and Gerard. Filtered through her eyes, the
story resonates with her love of her land and its traditions. The old
story of the Fae and Faery rings is borne anew, with added flavor. Her
characters are multi-dimensional and easy to identify with--I found myself
cheering for Cody, scowling at Gerard and crying with Nerys when all
seemed lost.
Through it all, I was hooked. "Thief of Dreams" stole my attention from
the opening lines to the final sentence. I was sorry to hear it end, and
definitely look for more from McGathy.
Totally edible, I rate it a five bonfire read!
